With the rapid development of Internet, more and more applications which request better network service have come forth, such as VOIP, VOD, network conference etc. However, Internet which is based on TCP/IP of "best effort" cannot guarantee QoS, which needed by the last network applications.To solve this problem, various network QoS technologies were presented, such as Integrated Service, Differentiated Service, and Multiple Protocol Label Switch. Because these technologies are limited by the infrastructure of TCP/IP, there is a long way to go before they become applicable.In order to get increasing network service to meet variable demand for QoS, we study carefully the feature of TCP/IP architecture, and find that the TCP/IP network based layer architecture have many inherent faults which overcomed by the network based non-layer architecture, which brings a good frame to provide QoS.Service unit network architecture (SUNA) is a new non-layer architecture. This dissertation explores the end-system QoS of a concrete implement of SUNA, and investigates how to provide end to end QoS。Usually, end -system includes all the elments of network system and major function, and has a important meanings to see about the features of network system. On the systemic analysis of the QoS requestion of end -system, this dissertation discusses the requirement that end -system supports QoS,then researches congestion control, brings forword author's creative viewpoints and designs relevant service unit..The primary innovative work of this dissertation are as follows:1,Presenting the frame of implementing QoS in the end-system of SUNA。A end-system have many network applications which require a lot of different netowrk services, and shall possess of the ability to assort with distinct requirement of QoS. Firstly, this dissertation works out the universalizable questions which should be solved by a end-system when provides QoS, then puts forward the frame of implementing QoS in the end-system of SUNA.2,Presenting a enhance delay-based congestion control algorithm (EDCA) in end- system, and designing corresponding service unit. On the base of end-to-end DCA, EDCA analyses the composing of every packet's RTT more accurately, and estimates the status of network congestion more exact, then adjusts traffic to avoid congestionIn the end, on the basis of host prototype of SUNA, building up QoS test-bed of end-system. Using the bed to implement a series of tests, we draw a conclude that the end-system based on SUNA can control the QoS of host network applications well. In the meantime, it shows that the SUNA framework possesses favorable expansibility, and provides conveniences to improve and extend more network services in the system for the future.
