The network in the world comes from ARPAnet in 1969.Serveral years later,The network has changed greatly.More and more network protocols had been put into use. Therefore,ISO established the unite standard of protocol- OSI.However, the industrial standard is TCP/IP which is designed initially for the transmission of narrowband data. With the development of the network,Many new applications are limited by using the TCP/IP protocols.Since the 1990's, there has been extensive research in the area of high performance network architecture among the network community. However, that research commonly depends on the conventional hierarchical networking architecture. Although the networking performance could be further improved, the problems concerned with the inherent limitations of the hierarchical architecture are still difficult to be resolved. To overcome such limitations and improve poor network service efficiency, which is mainly due to the redundant function overlaps between neighbouring layers and complicated hierarchical processes existing in the conventional hierarchical network, by analysing and classifying network services, a novel network architecture called the service unit based network architecture (SUNA) were presented. This project aims to implement the micro-communication element system (MCES), the first network system under the SUNA framework, into the Linux platform. It includes the host and router model implementations of the MCES. At present, the host model implementation contains the following functions:the host can correctly send and receive the user datagram protocols (UDP) datagrams and the transmission control protocol(TCP) datagrams; The datagrams could through the correct routing paths crossing different networks; Hosts can communicate via either serial or network adapter...
