Distributed Virtual Environment Applications In The Fire Plan

The Virtual Reality(VR) technology and Distributed Virtual Environment (DVE) have varieties of applications in the fire-fighting field, such as fire fighting demonstration, fire troop's training and fire decision-making etc. In this thesis I'll first analysis the current states of VR research and the basic concept and applications of DVE, then discuss the key technologies for applying DVE to the system for the fire fighting demonstration.This thesis firstly constructed three dimension virtual fire scene model files which can be downloaded to the clients' IE browsers through Internet by employing VR technology. then,through psychological tests, questionnaires, site observation and other methods of building fire emergency in the country under the psychological and behavioral characteristics analysis, in order to obtain the crowd in our building fire emergency psychological and behavioral characteristics of the data, and designed distributed real-time database using behavior rulers and evacuation of the humans in fire preview system.We applied the External Authoring Interface(EAI) of VRML and Java to refresh the three dimension scene for flame spread and dynamic display of the human evacuation; and used JDBC database interface to operate the data in the distributed real-time database, obtained and dynamic display the information of the flame spead and human evacuation. The whole system was programmed by VRML and Java which made it possible to transplant to other platforms. By the system for fire fighting demonstration based on the distributed environment,the fire department can get all kinds of information for the key fire units,the system can be used for the civic sense of fire safety education, distributed teaching, fire rescue and so on.
