Near-Field scattering measurement is one of the major methods in the field of scattering measurement. It has many advantages, such as short measuring distance, low requirements on the environments and easy implementation. In this thesis, a method of radar imaging measurement is presented. Based on this, the RCS is acquired by reconstructing the scattering centers of the target, which can be extracted through the microwave imaging.Fist of all, we review the history of the scattering measurement and introduce different kinds of methods. In the following, the fundamentals of the radar imaging are introduced, including the range profile and orientation resolution. The frequency domain characteristic of the backscattered field of the synthetic antenna array is also analyzed in this part. Basing on this, a method of near-field microwave imaging is proposed, scanning the target in a plane, two different orientation resolutions are obtained, thus, we can acquire the image. A one-dimension and two-dimension targets are calculated using this method, the result images show the scattering intense well. In the end, we conduct the experiments in the anechoic chamber to get the microwave image, and then we extract the scattering centers and make some preparative work for the reconstruct the RCS of the target.
