The gyrotron is The High Power Microwave(HPM) source. The mechanism of the gyrotron has resolved the difficulty that the traditional Microwave devices encountered, and it will great impel the application and development of the millimeter and sub-millimeter technology. As a member of gyrotrons, The gyroklystron has been widely applied to radar systems, communications, electronic counterwork, RF plasma heating and material disposal, for its has a certain bandwidth, high power, high efficiency and high gain. Harmonic gyroklystron becomes useful and attractive for it's half or less magnetic field at the same frequency as the gyroklystron operating at the fundamental cyclotron frequency.Through studying the High Frequency Structure and beam-wave interation of 8mm 2-harmonic gyroklystron working on TE021 cavity mode, A series of good staggered results were achieved:1. With the theory of resonant cavities, high efficiency and pure mode cavities such as input cavity, bunch cavity and output cavity which of TE021 mode at 35GHz were optimized and designed by the HFFS software.2. Through lots of PIC simulation of beam-wave interation, and the velocity spread of the beam was not considered, the structure of 3-cavities, 8mm 2-harmonic gyroklystron amplifier was designed. under the condition in existence, such as magnetic field, technics, magnetic injection gun, output power over 400KW with efficiency 38%and 35dB gain have been produced at 70KV beam voltage, 16A beam current and coefficient of magnetic 0.5118, bandwidth of about 200MHz has been observed.3. The efficiency and output power was analysed, Taking the electronic beam (such as beam voltage, beam current and pitch alpha), magnetic field, and the length of drifting tube as the parameters. This conclusion will offer the first hand datum for studying the Ka band, 2-harmonic gyroklystrons amplifier in the future.4.Aimed at the diffenent way picking out the power in simulation, it was concluded how to bring forward the power-stream of gyroklystron in PIC simulating. it would offerd theory support in simulation from now on.
