| The advantages of Digital TV make it a certain trend that the Digital TV displaces the Analogue TV. During the transition, it's the best method that receives the digital TV programs using the Set-Top-Box (STB). The STB is composed of hardware system and software system, and the software system is of the most importance, because only by the software, the TV can receive and display the program and other information services can run normally.The electronic program guide (EPG) and the mosaic navigation are very important to digital TV, and they are the door of enter the digital program. Using the navigation system, you can browse and search the program you need, and can know more information about program and other services.This paper is apart of research project High Definition Digital Cable TV Set-Top-Box. The main task of this project is to develop a High Definition Digital Cable TV STB based on the STi5518 chip from company of STMicroelectronics. The STB is designed for a cable TV management department. The STB is used in several cities. The main task of this paper is to research and develop the software which runs in STB. The works of this paper include:1. Research the PSI information of MPEG-2 and DVB-SI. The information is the data source of EPG and Mosaic.2. Research the work and use method of STLite/OS20 Real-Time Kernel. The Kernel can provide the service such as task management, memory management, semaphores, message queues, and timers, Interrupt handling. 3. Design and develop the EPG. Select the best scheme for the project from the several schemes. Design the systemic software, and develop the modules.4. Research the mosaic navigation, and bring forward a scheme to develop the mosaic navigation software. |
