A broadband and circular polarized antenna is analyzed and designed in this thesis.Because the antenna works in broad frequency range, so the double ridged waveguide is used as the feed. The antenna is circular polarized, the equipment of circular waveguide loaded with dielectric patch is used, which has the characteristic of simple design and excellent performance. A transition of rectangular-circular mode is used between the rectangular ridged waveguide and circular waveguide, it is chosen by reason of the broad frequency range and better impedance matching characteristic; the coaxial multimode horn of two chokes is adopted, which can improve the performance of the antenna radiation. The principle of all part mentioned above is analyzed and studied, and the initial design was finished based on the parameter requirement of the antenna. The initial design model was built and simulated in the HFSS software which is published by the Ansoft Company.Simulation results show significant consistency with the measurement data, which show the way of design and measurement are accurate.
