I have been teaching computer courses in vocational schools since I began to work. In recent years, online instruction begins to show up in vocational education, with websites of certain subjects as the main stream of online instruction. However, some problems exist in this regard. For example, the making of professional websites is a problem for unprofessional teachers; the form of website is inconducive to teaching planning and to incarnate students' role as the principal part in learning. Furthermore, the interaction between teacher and students is also limited. So this study aims to figure out how to utilize computer network environment to assist teaching and try to carry on teaching practice through computer network. Taking Construction Theory as the basis and making full use of the advantages of network, this study includes design of the aim, content, mode, method, activity and resource of online instruction, as well as the assessment of students' learning. BlackBoard is chosen as the tool of online instruction. The advantage of computer network environment is fully taken in the designing of teaching method. Students' motivation as the learner is brought into play in online instruction. Teaching activities varies, with tasks, cases and projects as the medium, and individual learning, group working, and interclass exchanges as the means. The overall study has taken more than one year. In view of the outcome of the pilot study, the expected goal has been reached.
