Based on the background of wireless multi-sensor network, this paper puts forward a solution way-the embedded technology based on ARM .The embedded handhold terminal is a combination of embedded software and embedded hardware. It is an ideally solution of data management of wireless multi-sensor networks for mobile users.This paper discusses design and implementation of embedded handhold terminal as well as technology involved. Due to the low computing ability of embedded system, the design of hardware and software for embedded handhold terminal differs a lot from the ordinary personal computer system. The software must be pruned and optimized according to the speciality of embedded handhold terminal. The hardware resources need to be made full use of.This paper focus on the system design of the embedded handhold, discusses choosing of hardware. The research in the thesis covers the embedded system hardware design, embedded system software design, uCLinux operating system, architecture of ARM, development of software and embedded system debug technique etc.Firstly, it is introduced that the embedded technology status quo, technology background. A low-cost embedded handhold terminal solution including hardware platform design and software platform design is given, then detailed introduce the procedure of uCLinux pruning, porting and development of software, where detailed. Finally, debugging technique of embedded development is introduced.
