Image Retouching Error Concealment

Error concealment takes an important role in image transmission, which has a great potential in constructing damaged images in video communication. In this disquisition, image inpainting is used to repair images which was damaged in the transmission . This method can construct the block-lost image in an undetectable form. The main works of this disquisition are summarized as follows:First, a brief introduction of error concealment and image inpainting technique is given.Second, different lost blocks need use different error concealment method is proposed. In processing, if the error blocks are uniform blocks, bilinear interpolation is used; if the error blocks are texture blocks, spatial similarity principles is used; if the blocks are edge blocks, exemplar-based image inpainting is used. In this disquisition, exemplar-based image inpainting is focus on, then the application of this method is expanded, and this method is used to prolongate the frame of interference patterns, the results of the experiments show that this method can achieve a comparative good effect.Finally, The experiments show that the whole method has a good performance on error concealment for the damaged images which lose blocks in image transmission.
