Although the switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive system has gotten more and more attentions because of its excellent characteristics of the firm structure , low cost and flexible control, its application has been limited by the existence of shaft position sensor.the previous schemes of SRD are always equipped with rotor position sensor, which determines the system's high speed performance, reliability and cost. As a result, how to detect the position of non-position sensor rotor has become one major direction in the study of SRD.However there was another main problem to be solved: torque ripple, and then suppressing the torque ripples of SRM had been a popular study topic.This subject puts emphasis on the research of position sensorless technique and reducing the torque ripple of switched reluctance motor(SRM);the characteristics of SRM and its control system's development are introduced, and the significance of making search for this direction is generated. And the configuration and fundamental operating principle of SRM are analyzed;The latest developments of the same research field both at home and at abroad are well analyzed at the beginning of the dissertation.The method need active phase currents are measured in real-time and using these measurements, the dynamic equations representing the active phases are solved using numerical techniques in order to obtain rotor position information.The design of the hardware and software of SRM drive system are introduced, including the TMS320LF240 based control circuit, the power drive circuit, the detecting circuit and the control software at the same.Based on the micro-stepping driving of stepping motor, addressed a design for reducing torque ripple in switched reluctance motor drive. By subdivided each phase current while changing the phase, then generates some torque vectors in the space, and controls current of phases to make the torque continuity.Last, MATLAB7.1 as simulation is used to make research for rotor position angle estimation and reducing torque ripple for the whole SRD.
