Switched reluctance motor (SRM) takes on the merits, such as simple and tightness structure, high stabilization, low cost, etc. Switched reluctance drive system (SRD) is a new drive system with high potential. The systems overall performance is lowed with rotor position sensor. So there are necessities in researching SRM without position sensor. This paper is started with this backgroud and put the emphasis in rotor position estimation method based on fuzzy inference rules.Firstly, the characteristics of SRM and its control system's development are introduced. Previously major methods used to implement non-position sensor detection and the significance of making search for this direction is generated. And the configuration and fundamental operating principle of SRM are analyzed; some study of linear model and nonlinear model with phase coil as fundamental parameter are presented and SR's linear model and nonlinear model are set up.Secondly, based on the quasilinear model of SRM, the simulation model of SRM and SRD is built, and the operation and control chatacteristics of SRM is simulated. Thirdly, through the measuring of flux lingkage and the analyzing of the results, the fuzzy nonlinear model of SRM is set up based on the fuzzy logic algorithm. On the basis of the model, using fuzzy inference rules, the rotor position estimation is studied. And for the purpose of enhancing the accuracy of rotor position detection, a in-line adjustment method is adopted, and better results are gotten. Finally, a power converter and a system controller based on TMS320F240 DSP are designed.Based on the testing system, the experimental study of SRM is implemented.
