Since German physicist, Roentgen, discovered x-rays and developed x-ray photography, Devices of medical images such as CT, MRI, B ultrasonic and Electronic endoscopy etc came to use little by little. This has made a revolutionary change in the way of traditional medical diagnosis. The technology of medical images processing by using computer is called medical images processing and analyzing. They can assist doctors to make better and more accurate diagnosis. Doctor can observe the inner tissue of a human body by using 2D images attained from device of medical images .Now days, doctors tend to diagnose by observing a series of slices of CT,. MRI images. It mainly depends on the doctors' experiences in reading slices and maybe can't get intuitionistic information. How to get the more intuitionistic and accurate information about conditions of a patient? 3D reconstruction of medical images can solve this problem. With the fast development of computer technology, it is possible to reconstruct and visualize 3D medical volume data. In a word, the technology for medical images 3D reconstruction is the process that 3D images of tissues and organs in a person's body have been reconstructed according to the 2D medical image slices. At the same time, we can make interaction operations on the 3D graphics such as translation, rotation and scale, also we can measure and cut the 3D graphics to get more information about the condition of the patient.Based on such reasons, the contents of the thesis focus on research in reconstruction and visualization technology of 3D volume dataset. This work includes the major contents just as follows:(1)3D reconstruction of medical images .Research to construct 3D graphic from sequence of CT images slices in dicom form by using Visualization Toolkit. (2)Dynamic display of 3D volume. Transformations of 3D model include translation , zoom, rotation and so on.(3)Probe into methods of measuring space distance and slices of simulation in 3D Volume. The key of measuring distance is to pick 3D coordinates from 2D screen of computer. We can get quantitative information about 3D volume via measurement and observe in various directions via slices of simulation.
