Based On The Iua Integrated Access Gateway

This thesis mainly discusses the implement of integrated access gateway in Next Generation Network (NGN) Architecture .Integrated Access Gateway plays an important role in NGN, and the function of it is transporting media streams and the SCN signaling over IP network. Media data is controlled by H.248 protocols, and the transport of signaling is implemented by IUA protocol. In this paper, I pay more attention on IUA protocol and have a deep research on it. As a result, I bring forward an effective resolve on some key problems. The paper is divided into five part.First, the paper discussed the concept and the characteristic of NGN and also makes a simple presentation of media gateway which includes control layer, access layer and core layer etc.In second part, it describes these protocols which have interfaces with IUA protocol, such as H.248 protocol which can controls the media streams, LAPD protocol which termites ISDN signaling and passes it to IUA protocol in integrated access gateway, SCTP protocol which can transport ISDN signaling over IP network as a transport layer protocol, it also discuss SIGTRAN protocol suites architecture ,the service it provides to its upper layer, its function and implement related key procedure. It depicts the differences between SIGTRAN protocols suite and PSTN/ISDN protocols. At last it discusses the network models which SIGTRAN protocols can compose.In third part, it discuss the IUA protocol suite architecture, the service it provides to its upper layer, its function and implement related key procedure. It also describes the boundary primitives it can provide, at the last of this part, it gives the detailed protocol processes.The fouth part is the most important part of this paper.it shows the system design of IUA-based integrated access gateway and the detailed implemented process of IUA process.The last part shows the work I have done for this subject.
