In this paper, we studied Parallel Rendering Technology in large-scale HLA-based simulation. We analyzed the concept of Parallel Rendering and discussed load balance problem in this field. Aimed at characteristics of HLA/RTI, we designed two kinds of framework for Parallel Rendering System in HLA-based simulation. At last we realized a Parallel Rendering Federation which could join a simulation system when necessary. This federation validated the feasibility of Parallel Rendering Technology in HLA-based simulation.Firstly, we analyzed the theory of Parallel Rendering. Having studied graphics rendering technique and theory of Parallel Calculation, we summarized related concept and elements of the Parallel Rendering. Parallel Rendering includes multi-resolution display and remote display. Further, using Winsock to achieve network communication within LAN, we studied remote display, and the results validated the possibility to realize Parallel Rendering in LAN.Secondly, we studied Immediate Mode and Retained Mode of Parallel Rendering Systems and HLA/ RTI. We theoretically proved that the Parallel Rendering could be realized in HLA/ RTI. Two kinds of framework of Parallel Rendering System in HLA-based simulation were put forward from two points of view. They are Parallel Rendering Federation and Integrating Parallel Rendering into the HLA framework.Thirdly, in order to improve the performance of the Parallel Rendering System based on HLA, in this paper we discussed a heuristic enlistment algorithm of load balancing.At last, we designed and realized a Parallel Rendering Federation. The realization of this Parallel Rendering Federation verifies the feasibility to realize the Parallel Rendering in HLA-based simulation system .
