After decades development, the facility and technology of RH vacuum refining has become mature, it has been applied widely in the processing of liquid steel. The smelting period of the liquid steel in the converter is reduced after having RH in the processing line, and the temperature of the liquid steel can be kept constant in the facility of RH, which can make the process between converter and continuous rolling line harmony.The status of RH national and international is introduced first in this dissertation, and then the process and the mathematical models of RH is described. The emphasis of the dissertation is the fourth part which includes structure of the network, data flow of the process computer, division of the subsystem, and the functions of all the software. The kernel is the mathematical models, they were developed by the SMS Company from Germany, and it was applied in China the first time. the thought of the models has been comprehended by the engineers from The Iron and Steel Company of Panzhihua who developed the software of collection, storage of the data and the communication software of the data which includes the software between the models, the software between the models and DB, the soft ware between L1 and L2,applying the technology of computer, communication, DB, automation, and also applying the principles of second smelt. We also finished the regulation of the parameter of the models by applying the HMI software.The communication between L1 and L2, and the software test are described last. L2 receives the data collected by L1 as the parameters for the mathematical model, and send the calculated values as the instruction to L1 after the calculation of the mathematical model, L1 do the work accordingly, thereby realize the optimization and control of the system. The fault is avoided, the performance is tested by the software tests, which also validates the system.After adopting the process computer and mathematical model in RH vacuum refining process, the quality of liquid steel is improved, the yield is increased and the energy consumption is reduced.
