In the field of enterprise application development, J2EE has always been one of the most import industry standards– especially in web application development where J2EE takes most part of the market share. However, EJB-based J2EE application is really not as good as SUN has promised, EJB acutaully has been bringing more disadvantages than benefits. Since 2002, there has been a widely criticism and reflection on EJB in J2EE community; the whole industry is seeking for a new J2EE architecture which is simple and easy-to-use.This is where the so-called"lightweight"frameworks come into play. These frameworks which take the good ideas from .Net and EJB, are gradually taking the place of EJB and getting widely accepted. Still, they are also the focus of this paper.This paper goes through how to build a real J2EE web application using the lightweight methodologies and frameworks. The system is built on those very advanced ideas in the industry and the author's the experience, not only what and why different technologies and architectures are choosen are discussed, but also implementation details and best practice are included.The paper begins with the introduction of the technical track and architecture of the target system, where basic concepts and technologies are covered; and then, it goes through the implementation of automatic Continuous Integration using Ant; next, the concreate design and implementation details are discussed in three different charpters which corresponds to three different layers of the target system: persistent layer, business layer and presentation layer, some codes are analyzed with the help of UML diagrams; finally, the system's security framework"AccountSecure"and the design...
