On Lmds Fixed Wireless Access Networks, Network Planning And Design

Local Multipoint Distribution Services (LMDS) is a broadband fixed wireless access system that can provide voice, data and video services. It works at the frequency upwards of 26GHz. As a newly developing broadband wireless access technology, it has many features, such as broad usable frequency, bearing bi-directional operation, good expansibility of system, having expert frequency admission. It greatly adapts to provide broadband communication services at users congregated area of city, such as business multi-storied building. LMDS is regarded as one of hotspots in all broadband access technology.This paper introduces the system architecture and features of LMDS, and pays emphasis on the network designing and its application. The whole paper consists of six chapters:In chapter 1, the definition, applications of LMDS are briefly introduced. And it details the characteristics of other access systems.In chapter 2,the main contents are the essential architecture and constitution. Also, the standardization of LMDS is briefly described.In chapter 3, features of LMDS are introduced, which include modulation and demodulation, fashion of communication, distribution of working frequency, intersectant polarization.In chapter 4, main conception and features wireless network design are introduced in detail. The capacity of system, organizing fashion, Rain Attenuation, overlay range, forecast of channel and frequency designing are discussed in-depth. And one solution of Henan Mobile LMDS wireless broadband access system is proposed.In chapter 5, familiar problems in actualizing network are recommended. And costs of network construction are analyzed.In chapter 6, network management system is described briefly.In the conclusion, the prospect of LMDS and the issues that to be solved in popularization of LMDS are summarized.
