Usb-based Fingerprint Capture And Recognition System Design

Biometrics is the future development direction of identification technology and Automatic fingerprint identification is one of the most reliable and effective biometrics technologies. Comparing with traditional identification technologies, it is safer and more reliable. Fingerprint capturing based on USB puts forward a more convenient and faster fingerprint capturing way.In this paper, Automatic fingerprint identification system and its application are briefly introduced and the key points of this paper are fingerprint capturing base on USB and the fingerprint identification algorithm. With the fingerprint sensor FPS200, the realization of fingerprint capturing circuit based on USB is introduced first; then the designation of WDM USB device driver and fingerprint capturing application program are also done; at last, the captured fingerprint image is pre-processed, through being filtered,sharpened , binarimized and thinned , then the characteristics of the fingerprint are picked up and template matching is carried out . Over designation and research, fingerprint data transmission through USB was implemented, the fingerprint image was displayed, the characteristic of the fingerprint was picked up, the fingerprint matching algorithm was studied in a way, and the function of the automatic fingerprint identification system is basically realized.
