This paper is concerned with the theoretic study on the stability analysis and the design of fuzzy controllers of uncertain fuzzy systems with distributed delays. The uncertain parameters are supposed to be time-varying but norm-bounded. By the characterizations of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model systems with distributed delays, the problems of stability analysis and state feedback controller design are solved via the linear matrix inequality (LMI) appraoch. Specifically, sufficient conditions in terms of LMLs are obtained for the existence of fuzzy robust H∞ state feedback controllers guaranteed cost controllers and L2 - L∞ controllers, respectively. When parameter uncertainties appear in controller gains, the problems of non-fragile H∞ control, guaranteed cost control and L2 -L∞ control are also considered and the corresponding solvability conditions are presented, respectively. Via the LMI Control Toolbox and Simulink in MATLAB, illustrative examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed methods. Finally, some related issues which are worth studying in the future are pointed out in the conclusion.
