Much of the practice and research in Workflow has taken place within the confines of a single organization. However, with the development of e-bossiness, e-government and internet, COWFMS (Cross Organization Workflow Management System) become more and more the main research domain. There is no globalization standard in the research field of cross-organization workflow. Though WfMC (Workflow Management Coalition) has presented some specifications, it is far enough. We have a try in the domain of the workflow management system supporting multi modeling language.Based on the analyze of the correlative criterion and production of the workflow, we advance a novel approach that the models are distinguished into build-time model and run-time model, and the run-time model is a five dimension based on different meta-model. The paper is constituted as following:In the 1st chapter, we introduce workflow briefly to make the readers understand the development and application of workflow technology and some relevant concepts. We also explain the background in the research field of supporting multi modeling language.In the 2nd chapter, from the view of system, we advance the direction reason why different modeling languages cannot interoperate is the tight couple relation between build-time model and run-time model. So we advance a novel approach that the models are distinguished into build-time model and run-time model, and the run-time model is a five dimension based on different meta-model. The paper is constituted as following:.In the 3rd chapter, we introduce how to build a based-on multi meta-model PSM in the way functional aspect, behavioral aspect, informational aspect, organizational aspect and operational aspect.In the 4th chapter, we build a simple high-level workflow modeling language-M4L, which is used to describe the plat independent model based on multi meta-model.In the 5th chapter, we design a system supporting multi modeling language by using our novel approach and the above building based multi meta-model.
