It is the beginning of network construction of 3rd generation mobile communication system. Since the 2nd generation is now still been widely used in the world, the 3G network has to be constructed step by step. Then how to save money at the beginning of the network construction, but do not worse the quantity of the network becomes a problem.This paper discusses the OTSR mode, which could not only save a lot of cost but also do not worse the performance. OTSR takes the advantages of the two traditional receiver mode, OMNI and STSR.At first, this paper gives a general introduction of the OTSR mode compared to OMNI and STSR, and discusses its feasibility, running environment, and also the uplink and downlink performance.Then based on the general knowledge, this paper concentrates on the algorithm of base-band uplink receiver. Considering the characteristic of OTSR, the paper gives out several algorithms, compares them and picks out a better one. Most of the algorithms are about the functions of Access Control and Path Monitor. Such as Preamble Detect, Message demodulation, Search Window Adjust, Handing Over and so on.It is also realized on the DSP platform, but the code doesn't show up in this paper. The test was done in the real system, and the result is listed in the paper.
