Recently, along with the development of space, semiconductor laser and digital signal processing, the research of optical intersatellite communications is possible. As microwave communication can't meet for quickly increasing recently demand for bandwidth, it is necessary for developing optical intersatellite communications techniques. But the acquisition, tracking and pointing (ATP) are critical and difficult issues in optical intersatellite communications. So, this project is aimed at implementing t a quickly tracking system with high performance to establish the steady optical links. Based on the brief introduction of the concepts, development trend of optical intersatellite communications and ATP techniques, the tracking control structure is studied and the tracking algorithm is decided in this dissertation. And so on, the mathematical model and transfer function of the tracking system are built, and the feasibility of the tracking control system design is demonstrated. Furthermore, the static error of the system with a unit incline input is deduced.A majority of model of unit is based on analytics, so the general model can apply to other optical intersatellite communications systems.To approach practical system, some unit model is built by practical test. And to make PID parameters adjustment easily, what influence will happen when PID parameters is changed is studied in this dissertation.To avoid serious influence of nonlinear zero drift, an integral value processing method is proposed and applied in the practical implement of the system.Finally, on the basis of above research, a coarse tracking demonstration system is designed by FPGA. Through the tracking experiments by this demonstrator and communication system, results show that the system satisfies the requirement of project.
