With the rapid development of the information technology, embedded system has been applied to network, mobile device, nationaldefence ,military affairs . Embedded system is a specific system that concentrads on application , it is based on computer technology and has rigid restriction with software and hardware in some fields, such as configurable, reliable,low cost , small cubage and low power. It is a product that combine to advanced computer technology, semiconductor technology, electronical technology and many other specific applications.The mobile terminal development belongs to embedded application. In this paper, embedded system will be introduced firstly, including the microprocessor in embedded system, embedded operation system ,method of debugging in embedded system. of the embedded operation system. Architecture of the system will be discussed secondly,including the platform of hardware and software ,the service of the operation system and function.This dissertation just focuses on the software development of the mobile terminal product. It makes a sufficient discuss on the software design and implementation of the mobile terminal. Firstly upon the real-time operating system REX, we study the module of UI task, adopt the in-level finite state machine mechanism,and give the total architecture design of the UI task, at the same time, realize the functional routines of the application, the definition of data structure, the design of interface etc;Then, we study the access strategy design of FLASH data and the display implementation design of LCD;and study multi-language mechanism, design and implement text input method and display of multi-language ; Finally, it evaluates the analysis and design of embedded software and makes a summary. It also prospects the future research at last.
