CHIPIC is the first electromagnetism particle in cell (EM-PIC) code which is developed by our country. Algorithm of Electromagnetic field is a key module for CHIPIC code. CHIPIC is a sort of 2.5-D,3-D electromagnetism particle in cell code which is applied in High-Power Microwaves domain. Algorithm of CHIPIC based on Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) and PIC, and the program is written by FORTRAN language.The EIGENMODE command in the electromagnetic particle-in-cell simulation software (CHIPIC) can be applied to 2-D particle simulation, it can compute the frequencies and mode patterns of resonance modes in cavities. It is very important to the electromagnetic simulations. This paper base on the theory and method of Electromagnetic Calculation and FDTD, associate with the particle simulation technology, develop an algorithm to resolve the problem of the EIGENMODE analysis of the cold-cavity in practice.This paper lays emphasis on the problem of extracting the isolated EIGENMODE in spectrum and the iteration accelerating.First of all, the algorithm base on the boundary problem of HELMHOLTZ equation and Finite-Difference Technique, calculate the field in"cold"cavity and disperse the HELMHOLTZ equation, as a result of the formula : Ax =λx. Secondly, according to the EIGENVALUE of Matrix Theory and Applied Iterative Methods, EIGENMODE adopt a numerical approach which allows the improved CHEBYSHEV polynomial iteration which based on the power method to extract the isolated EIGENMODE in the spectrum.Finally, we resolve the problem of compatibility in software and insert the EIGENMODE module into the CHIPIC which will have the function of EIGENMODE analysis.In the end of this paper we exam the capability of EIGENMODE in two kinds of physical model, the testing result shows that the capability of EIGENMODE, which compare with the function of Magic and CST, accord with the practice and what we...
