There is a strong similarity between biological immune system and internet worm immune system, with the purpose to protect the system against any attack from foreign viruses, and make the system stable within a changing environment. The biological immune system is a highly distributed and self-adapting intelligent system, which can discover and kill foreign viruses actively and quickly. The purpose of this paper is to study the advantages of biological immune systems, try to introduce them into the algorithms and designing of network worm immune systems.Firstly we will review the development of internet worms as well as the established methods to fight against them. Then we will briefly discuss the working principles of biological immune systems. Next we will discuss the problems and tasks of any worm immune system of computer networks. Based on the algorithms of negative selection and clone selection, we will propose a new design of internet worm detector, which follows the working principles of a typical biological immune system, and uses the ideas of partial matching and association memory. Finally we will analyze the various factors affecting a internet worm immune system, including patching algorithm, starting value and dynamic coverage of detectors.
