Information hiding technology is a rising subject involved with information theory, Digital Signal Processing, Cryptography, Digital communication. Nowadays information hiding technology is widely used in many fields, such as cryptic communication, complex transmission, copyright protecting of image, video and text. Digital watermark technique is one of the most popular research topics in the field of information hiding, it's a new technique for protecting the security of multimedia information, which embeds secret messages imperceptibly into digital media such as images, text, video and audio to identify the copyright owner, so as to protect copyright. A utilizable Digital watermark system should own good Robustness, security, transparency. In this paper, the fundamental methods for image processing are introduced at first, and then the algorithms about watermark generating, watermark embedding, watermark abstracting and watermark attacking are recommended following the concepts of information hiding and watermark. There is a discussion about Human Visual System (HVS) and the influence of HVS on developing digital watermark;meanwhile we analyze some different algorithm of digital watermark and their performance. Finally considering the popular wavelet theory, a watermark algorithm based on KENT mapping and integer wavelet transform is presented, Experimental results show that the algorithm results in a good HVS, and can effectively withstand some image processing such as filtering, adding noise and image compression.
