PC104 industry control computer plays a great role in the domestic embedded application market. But key IC chips of PC104, such as CPU and chipset, must be imported. Developing high performance system level IC is very important for improving the capacity of competition and long-term research.The work of this thesis is supported by the National Advanced Research Project (Grant No. 41308010307). The author has participated in the design of PC104 SoC chip, "LongtiumSl", proposed the design scheme of the PC104 SoC chip's peripheral equipment controller. In addition, three parts of peripheral equipment controller: keyboard controller, DMA controller and timer are implemented.The research work of this paper mainly includes: 1, The requirement of PC104 SoC chip's peripheral equipment controller is analyzed,and based on it, the architecture and organization are proposed. 2, The standard keyboard communication protocol and the function of keyboard areanalyzed. The problem of timing compatibility between keyboard and its controlleris resolved. Then the design of keyboard controller is implemented. 3, DMA controller is designed and accomplished. Timing of memory access isoptimized according to the characteristic that the DMA controller is integrated intothe SoC system.4, The timer and its count modes are detailedly analyzed and successfully designed. 5, The modules of keyboard controller, DMA controller and timer are all verifiedthrough simulation. Prototype verification of the peripheral equipment controller iscarried out after their integrating into the SoC system chip.Now "LongtiumSl" SoC has been taped-out. The 486DX2 compatible microprocessor, system controller and peripheral equipment controller are integrated on the chip. DOS6.22 OS and standard application program could run on "LongtiumS1" based PC104 industry control computer successfully. Noticeably, it has been applied in the control system of an Unmanned Aviation Vehicle (UAV) successfully.
