The License Plate Capture System Dsp Software Design

Road construction, especially highway construction, is one of the most important projects of our country's infrastructure. With the rapide development of the road net, the information management of the road net and the application of high-tech equipments will form a huge market. The vehicle license plate snapping system becomes more and more popular and attracts many companies. This article introduces the DSP software design of the vehicle license plate snapping system and describes the achievement of the JPEG2000 compression.Chapter 1 is the exordium. It introduces the relative technology and brings forward the mission of this article.Chapter 2 introduces the general design of the system. The system is based on the IDT embedded system processor and the ADSP-BF561 Blackfin DSP (Digital Signal Processor).Chapter 3 describes the details of the DSP software design. The software on the ADSP-BF561 Blackfm processor includes nine modules: system initalzation module, image capture module, image compare module, plate locating module, plate picking module, image extention module, image compression module, communication module, vehicle velocity and vehicle direction module. And cooperating with IDT processor, it achieves the panorama mode, the feature perspective mode, debug mode and stop mode.Chapter 4 describes the achievement of the JPEG2000 compression. The achievement of the JPEG2000 includes the following steps: preprocessing, the wavelet transform, quantization, Tier-1 encoder and Tier-2 encoder.Chapter 5 describes the optimization of the JPEG2000 compression based on the frame of ADSP-BF561 Blackfm DSP and the arithmetic itself.Chapter 6 summarizes the system and gives it's meaning in general aspects.
