With the development of information technology and network technlogy,people have an extremely strict requirement for consistency of clocks.The precision of clock synchronization between master and supervisor have an immediately effect on the precision of Supervision Orientation System for coal mine slight quake.Therefore,how to synchronize all clocks of this system precisely is a quite key issue. The paper focus mainly on research of clock synchronization in distributed system,design and implement the clock synchronization system of Supervision Orientation System for coal mine slight quake.Our experiments show that this system has the characters of flexibility and hight precision.Through the analysis for several existent protocols in Internet,the paper adopts the Network Time Protocol (NTP) as the network synchronization protocol.According to the network topology of Supervision Orientation System for coal mine slight quake and the underground Characteristic Of some supervisor,the paper designs a project which integrates the NTP and GPS. This system not only synchronize all supervisor and master in LAN,but also synchronize them with UTC.The paper reviews the traditional ways of clock synchronization and points out the lack of it.Then,the paper expounds the theory of getting time from GPS.By discussing implement model, architecture and algorithms of the protocol,the paper analyzes the pricipic of Network Time Protocol working.The software implements the data filter algorithm,Intersection algorithm and Combining algorithm. Finally, the paper makes experiments in Supervision Orientation System for coal mine slight quake of mineral department in Bei Jing,the data measured shows that this synchronization system has higher precision compared with the traditional clock synchronization.
