Application Flex Technology To Build Ria System

The internet grows to be the default platform of developing applications. Browser client basing on HTML becomes the most popular web application client. Being a thin client application, browser client has too many limits, for example, it can not use abundant effect to display data, so user's experience is quite bad. As web application is growing more and more complicated, traditional web application will not satisfy web user's all-sided experience requirement sooner or later.RIA (Rich Internet Applications) technology allows us to access rich client application on internet as simple as using traditional web applications. It satisfies web user's all-sided experience requirement; it make presentation tier more powerful. Macromedia Flex technology provides developer a new developing model: Using Mxml language which bases on label to establish user interface; using oriented object language "Action Script" to design and control client side logic. When developing a large-scale application which centers on data and containing a lot of complex user interfaces, establishing RIA web application is more suitable.This thesis describes author's research and practices done about Rich Internet Applications (RIA) and its client development technology Macromedia Flex. APS system is a financial system, which centers on data and containing a lot of complex user interfaces, in order to enrich overall user experience and make data interaction much easier, we can integrate RIA into it to establish rich internet application using RIA client developing technology: Macromedia Flex. During the implement process, based on the original APS system, as well as the existing defects, we redesign the system framework, and integrate it with n tiers structure; and use dynamic components which provided by Flex to implement the APS system, such design made APS system change from page based to be component based, to make the present layer to a new level, and also more flexible; at the same time, add exception handler in APS-RIA system, which remedied the defect of original APS system.We integrate RIA into an existing legacy system to establish rich internet application using Macromedia Flex technology, and finish APS-RIA system, this experiment finally validates Macromedia Flex's effects in implementing Rich Internet Applications (RIA), and verified RIA system deliver desktop-like user interaction interfaces to the screens, and enrich overall user experience; finally also summarized Macromedia Flex existed defects.
