TDI CCD sub-pixel dynamic imaging technology is a very effective novel method of minimizing space-based remote sensing systems. The higher spatial resolution images than general sampled-imaging system can be captured by this technology. It is significative to evaluate and compare the different imaging system through the proper qualitative or quantitative evaluation criterion .The most direct way to evaluate imaging system is to evaluate the quality of outputting images of the imaging system.Image quality evaluation plays an important role in various image processing application, however, it is a challenge. A great deal of efforts have been made to develop objective image quality metrics in the past three to four decades. But, those quality assessment approaches are based on the error statistical analysis. The goal of objective image quality assessment research is to supply quality metrics that correlate with human eyes perceived image quality. Because human eyes are the ultimate receivers in most image processing environment. But the methods can not correlate well with subjective visual perception in basis of error statistical analysis. In recent years, a number of efforts have been made to develop new objective image quality measures which incorporate perceptual quality measures by considering human visual system. Unfortunately, only limited success has been achieved. Hence, the subjective quality measure approach is still used in most environment.At first, the paper gives an analysis of principle of TDI CCD sub-pixel dynamic imaging system, especially, image fusing, key of post processing in sub-pixel imaging. After the description of the development history and classification of the methods of image quality evaluation some traditional methods are analyzed, their characteristics, good qualities and weakness are compared and summarized. By considering humanvisual system characteristics, the paper implemented an image quality indexing algorithm, the experimental results show that the method is efficient.
