Software productivity has been steadily increasing since 1970, but not quick enough to catch up with the demands placed on the software industry.Currently, as software costs continue to represent an increasing share of computer system costs, and as software faults continue to be responsible for many expensive failures, nothing short of an improvement in software quality and development will give people a great hope.Reuse-based software engineering has been touched. It provides a realistic approach that can deliver such improvements.Everyone has meet a question, when we use to build software from imprecise and contradictory user needs, subject to all the contradictory constraints of costs, reliability, time to market, and portability to encode it into a generator, we could try to reuse the product or repeat the development process.Product-Line Engineering (PLE) is a specialized form of software reuse that promises productivity, quality, and shorter time to market in developing similar products in the same domain. This emerging reuse technology has potential impact on software engineering practice.Despite intensive research in software engineering, many Chinese software companies remain an elusive goal. The real reason is that we have not practice experiences. Just like enterprise web systems, these products have similar needs. We could reuse the earlier product or the architectural frameworks. It is emphasized in the thesis that the Product-Line practice, and the really improvement by using PLE in enterprise web systems is also proved in the thesis. It is hoped to provide some advice and suggestions to the managers on the similar projects that what is concluded in the thesis.
