The research of this thesis based on the project "Intelligent Control Theory and Method Research of Networked Control Systems" funded by the National Science Foundation.Firstly, some basic issues, the current research and development trend on Networked Control Systems (NCSs) and fault-tolerant control systems are introduced in this paper. The reasons to apply fault-tolerant control and switched systems to modeling and analysis of NCSs are explored.Secondly, for single-input single-output (SISO) NCSs with short delay, the model of NCSs with sensor and actuator failure is obtained, respectively. Furthermore, On the basis of the aforementioned model, the stability of close-loop NCSs is analyzed by means of Switched Systems. A design method of controller possessing integrity to sensor or actuator failure is presented by solving a set of LMIsThirdly, the model of NCSs with sensor and actuator failure is obtained for multi-input multi-output (MIMO) NCSs with time-varying long delays, respectively. The stability of close-loop NCSs is investigated based on Switched Systems. A design approach of controller possessing integrity to sensor or actor failure is presented, and design procedure of fault-tolerant controller is given by solving a set of LMIs.Finally, some illustrative examples and simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design method in this paper.
