Virtual machining process controller is a key component of virtual manufacturing system, and is one of the foundations of evaluation methods during product development. It's the crucial to realize virtual machining environment, and to ensure the validity and applicability of the virtual environment.In this dissertation, the control technology of virtual machining process has been studied deeply. Aiming at the expandability of virtual machining system and the reconfigurability of machining process controller for different NC systems, a realization method of the opening and general virtual NC controller is put forward, and a hierarchy data management mode for NC system information is proposed.With the hierarchy modeling method, the geometry model and the machining process model of virtual mill center is constructed. The work piece model applying the Z-map modeling method and the machining process model using the cutting off material method by tool swept volume is researched.Controller operations, such as lexical analysis, syntax check, extracting of machine control words, and interpolating of tools path, are realized by the translating and edit technology. Based on database technology and Object-Oriented programming method, the method of translation from a NC system to the criterion NC system is given, and the function of customization of function-code and syntax formula of NC system is presented.According to those above theories, an opening and general NC controller based on VRMS system is developed. A case study is also introduced to illustrate the virtual NC controller function and performance.
