Computational Grids are a promising platform for executing large-scale resource intensive applications. However, resource management and scheduling in the Grid environment is still a complex problem,' because resources are geographically distributed, heterogeneous in nature, owned by different individuals or organizations with their own policies, have different access and cost models. This paper introduces a market-based model in order to regulating the Grid resources management and scheduling. The model comprises of markets, resource consumers, resource providers and their interactions. And then components involved in markets, consumers and providers are Markets, Application Agents, Resource Agents . The paper further discusses a approach which is based on the model and realizes the optimal scheduling of grid resources by the market mechanism, and a equilibrium-based resource scheduling algorithm is introduced at last.
