Workflow Technology Applied Research In The Grid Service Composition

Grid computing is a new high-performance distributed computing method.With the development of Web technologies,the Open Grid Service Architecture(OGSA) was proposed. Thus,Grid computing aggretated geographily distributed resources and services by the standardized Grid Services.One of the key challenges to enable the broader use of Grid services beyond the domain of scientific computing is the ability to perform complex tasks that require the modeling and coordination of the enactment of a number of destributed Grid services.Workflow technology is a good candidate for supporting Grid service flow.So,it is highly attended that how workflow technologies are applied in the composition of Grid services.Firstly,this paper analysed the features and development of Grid and workflow technologies,and highly attended the actuality of the application of workflow technologies in composition of Grid services.Laterly,this paper proposed a adapting for GS/WS workflow management architecture(GS/WS-WFMA),and a GS/WS composition framework based on GS/WS-WFMA.In this composition framework,this paper uses BPEL as a process description languange, added GSproxy module in open source ActiveBPEL engine, and encapsulated the client of Grid Service into a ProxyedWS.By these,this paper achieved the composition of GS/WS using web service engine,and also uniform management and lifecylce management for multiple Grid Service instances.At last,this paper exampled the material implementation.Since the development of Web services and its technologied have been more mature,using existing web service technologies implement the composition of Grid services can be supportting by many mature technologied.Futher,this composition can be applied in the practice of enterprises.
