Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) is a new system radar, so it become the important diection of radar research.It can provide position,distance,direction and apparent information of the targets by displaying and storing their high-resolution images. It is capable of generating high-resolution images of targets,which lead to great progress in target identify.At first, the article introduces the background and the development of ISAR radar. Then the article introduce the basic concept of ISAR radar, analyzes the signal process of ISAR radar including STRETCH process locomotion compensation and Range-Dopier arithmetic. We establish the mathematics model, carry out many simulations,describe the simulation of ISAR imaging of a missile target and discusses every radar parameter influencing on radar's ISAR performance, provide the ISAR image of a warhead with spinning motion.Finally,we point out some important problems remaining to be solved in ISAR imaging of missiles.
