Laser warning technique is a special kind of photoelectric reconnaissance technology, which is aimed at dealing with complicated laser threatening sources on battlefield by means of exactly and promptly detecting laser signal emitted by the enemy, ascertaining the direction then giving the alarm. This paper mainly introduces the principles of the optical fiber arrays directional detection technology for producing the powerful laser warning system and the optimization coding design method in testing the length of optical fiber delay lines. In the optical fiber delay directional detection laser warning system, the optical fiber delay lines are used to connect optical incept system with photoelectric conversion system, transmit the laser, cause delay in optical signals and encode the optical signals simultaneously. Because the length of optical fiber delay lines has direct effects on the volume of laser warning system, the optical loss and the false alarm ratio, the optical fiber delay lines are permuted and combined based on the property of the laser pulse and the optimization theory. Accordingly the minimum of the total length of the optical fiber delay lines is obtained, which provides the important theoretical argument for the optimization design of laser directional detection warning system. Since the laser pulse width is narrow and the raise time is short, in order to make the laser pulse signals pass easily, digital filtering arithmetic program is designed to filter the disturbing signals and noise via high pass digital filtering technique. At the same time, the laser pulse raise duration time is set as the confined receiving time for the laser warning so that detection circuit can output signals only when it receives the laser pulse signals, which serves as a reliable basis for the development of the powerful directional detection laser warning systems. And the false alarm ratio of the optical fiber delay directional detection laser warning system is reduced greatly and the accuracy and stability of the delay directional detection is improved significantly.
