With the development of wireless data communication, many different communication criterions are constituted and the products based it also gradually are push out. Different kinds of modulation technique and RF circuit design become the stress and difficulty. In this thesis, we introduce systematically the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) modulation technique and it's application in IEEE802.11g Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). Then our main discussion is WLAN RF front-end architecture and link budget analysis flow based on the OFDM modulation technique. This thesis consisted of three parts:Part 1 introduced the topology structure, Medium Access Control layer (MAC) and Physical layer (PHY) of IEEE802.11 WLAN. While the OFDM modulation technique and it's application in IEEE802.11g WLAN were mainly discussed.Part 2 analyzed the collectivity architecture of WLAN RF circuit and it's layout and flow. The influence factors to RF font-end were also discussed. On the base of illuminating the link budget principle, the performance of RF front-end was estimated.Part 3 mainly analyze the modules of WLAN RF circuit. Their specifications were trimmed after discussing their principle and the function of exterior passive elements. In the end, an ISM frequency's antenna on the PCMCIA board was designed and analyzed.
