The development of multimedia storage and transmission technology pushes the development of the digital media application. Many types of multimedia works, such as image, video and audio, bring people many conveniences. At the same time, how to effectively protect the copyright of the multimedia products is an urgent subject.Under this condition, as a kind of technology to solve multimedia copyright authentication and its integrity-safeguarding problem, watermarking technology comes into being. At present, people in the academe pay much attention to watermarking technology. This paper takes still images as example; it brings present popular image processing technology (such as DWT, and fractal technology) into watermark technology and innovates a watermark scheme based on fractal transform.This paper makes scientific researches on watermark embedding and extraction scheme in wavelet domain, brings forward a novel digital watermark algorithm based on fractal theory. This algorithm firstly constructs the range sub-tree and domain sub-tree according to the Embedded Zerotree Wavelet Algorithm, and then searches the wavelet tree that has curtain similitude by the threshold, and then realizes the watermark embedding and extraction combining the Human Visual System.Finally, this paper proves the algorithm reliable in robustness, imperceptivity and safety by analyzing and comparing the datum from many attack experiments. What's more, the algorithm is simple and easy to realize.
