LEO satellite communication systems are intended to play an important role in the next generation of mobile telecommunication system. An important aspect of LEO satellite communication system is to manage the radio resources. In this paper, I propose two channel reservation strategies to improve the performance of LEO satellite communication system. And I also propose a simple formation method for formation flying. Chapter 1 gives brief introduction of satellite communication system and formation flying. In Chapter 2, I propose a channel reservation algorithm for spotbeam handover issues in LEO satellite network. The aim of the algorithm is to handle the handover issue in LEO satellite network. This scheme is based on the mobility pattern of the users and simulation results show that this scheme improves the performance of system. In Chapter 3, a channel robbing strategy is proposed for LEO satellite network. This scheme uses the deterministic satellite movement pattern to estimate the users'locations. I present two channel robbing standard and compare the performance of the two. In Chapter 4, I study different formation methods of formation flying and propose a new simple method. I describe the application of this method with different parameters. The simulation result shows the change of inter-satellite parameters under different system parameters. Chapter 5 summarizes the paper.
