With the development of MIC and MMIC, more excellent performance and compact size microwave filters will be required. Two planar structures of microwave elliptic/quasi-elliptic function filters have been studied in this paper on account of the reason. Based on elliptic/quasi-elliptic function theory, the paper derived the formulas of cross-coupling resonators parameters. Meanwhile, the paper presented a new synthesis procedure and method of extraction the parameters making use of EM full wave simulation technology. The method will not only be applied to study planar structures, but also will be applied to coaxial and waveguide etc. Thereby, the method will be applied widely. Coplanar waveguide structures have been proposed as alternatives to other structures in microwave communication. But there are not many filters design in CPW technology. The paper presented several structures of CPW quasi-elliptic function filters and design cures firstly. In addition, the paper derived basic performance of CPW odd and even mode using conformal mapping. Using these structures and curves people can design more excellent filters. In conclusion, based on elliptic function and cross coupling theory, the paper analyzed microwave filters by full wave EM simulation. In the paper, the author analyzed field and circuit and point out how to unify the engineering and theory. New ideas and next works have been summarized in the end during the study period.
