The Cpci Zero Slot Controller Module Design

Nowadays more and more people come to share the commonsense about testsystem of higher speed and smaller volume. Integrated test system based onCompactPCI structure is consistent with this development.ETX(Embedded Technology eXtended) embedded computer bus is a newembedded computer technology. Because it's excellence that easy to be extended andsmaller size, it is accord with the development of current embedded computertechnology.According to the project"A series of module based on CompactPCI structure forintegrated test system"taken by UESTC, this paper focuses on the design of CPCIsystem controller module that using ETX embedded computer technology.At first this thesis introduces the whole function and the design solution ofsystem controller module on the basis of the CompactPCI specification andrequirement of using. Then, this thesis discusses specially the whole structure of themodule considering the size and the heat dissipating. In the next, this thesis expatiateson the design of CPCI interface (PCI-to-PCI bridge) and interface compatibility ofETX embedded computer module.At last, combined with the trait of the ETX module, some ideas about the ETXutilized in the VXI controllers are discussed, it's base on the project of "EmbeddedVXI Controllers"taken by CAT laboratory of the UESTC. Then, the key technologyof PCI-to-VME bridge have been introduced in detail.
