The dissertation, on the base of formal research productions, has a further research on the thesis of Folded slot antenna, and aims at improving the performance of folded slot antenna. This work is supported by the research thesis "compact reconfigurable planar antenna in mobile", which belongs to the National Nature Science Fund。For the sake of adapting to high capability and UWB (ultra-wide band) of wireless communications required by modern information society, also according to the characteristics and advantages of folded slot antenna, the applications of folded slot antenna in the wireless communication systems are regarded by researchers. Such hereinbefore is just the research background of this dissertation. In Chapter Two, first of all, the basic conceptions of folded slot antenna are generalized, and the design principles and means are analyzed. And then, based on the material parameters required by the designs, the prototype of antenna is designed by emulating. By the way of applying High Impedance Ground Plane(HIGP)of Photonic Bandgap(PBG)to improve the radiation of the antenna, Chapter Three generalizes the correlative principles of HIGP. The basic conception of PBG is formulated. The classification, use and high impedance ground plane of PBG are analyzed, and design principles of impedance ground plane are generalized. In Chapter Four, on account of the research aim, HIGP is applied in the prototype of antenna to father research on folded slot antenna. This section generalizes the design process of antenna, designs the three-dimensional configuration of antenna, and gains the results fulfilling the design request by emulating. On the basis of Chapter Four, Chapter Five improves the performance of this antenna design by applying double folded slot antennas. To begin with, the conceptions and design means of double folded slot antennas are analyzed and generalized. In addition, the design is implemented. By emulating, the antennas, which applie this design, not only fulfills the request, but also has better performance comparing to the former design. The dissertation analyses and generalizes the conceptions and design means of folded slot antenna, presents the prototype of antenna. And connecting with correlative principles, this dissertation has a further research on the thesis of folded slot antenna. By applying HIGP structure and antenna array of two elements successively, the performance of antenna is ameliorated and improved greatly.
