Distributed Collaborative Design Of Realization

Nowadays, as a jumped-up technology, distributed collaborative design system allows users cooperating with each other to design a manufacture together through network. Users have knowledge about who they are cooperating with and could communicate with them.The content in this paper is some research works supported by the National Grand Fundamental Research 863 project. The name of the project is custom industry and area oriented three-dimension digital design core system (Project serial number: 2003AA4Z3120).Our collaborative design system in GSCAD2004 is expanded from the original GSCAD2004 system. Hence, in this paper, we introduce the main framework of GSCAD2004 first, including the feature module.Collaborative design module is based on secondary develop module, so secondary develop module and COM technology is introduced before collaborative design module. Secondary develop module includes a set of APIs. Theses APIs are designed according to the functions and framework of GSCAD2004, ensuring encapsulation.With the wide spread of Internet, collaborative design system comes to be one of the hotspots of CAD systems. Our system is a distributed synchronization collaborative design system. We give the framework and implementation of the module as well as introduce the concept of "Session". What's more, a total events ordering algorithm is raised. With the help of this algorithm, we solve the key problems in our distributed collaborative design system. And then, We make some further research. There are some problems about collisions: how to detect and remove collisions. We give a face-based persistently naming mechanism first, and then we introduce an approach to solve the problems of collisions. At last, a schema is given to deal with the Undo/Redo operations in the system.
