This paper applies Genetic Algorithms (GA) to the inversion model of particle granularity and distribution for the optimization problem of the inversion model of laser airborne particle counter. With the research of counter principle, a novel method of hybrid genetic algorithm (HGA) , which based on the real-coded adaptive genetic algorithms and Least- squares finite element (LSFS),is firstly presented , and the programme is made out at the same time. It can be seen from the computer simulation result that this method not only solves the problem appeared the old testing system, but also greatly raises the measurement stability and the precision of the inversion of particle granularity and distribution. The distinguish ability of the new inversion model can be raised above 97% for the measurement of standard single radius particle, and the base of utility of the theoretic particle radius model of laser airborne particle counter has been established.
