The reliability and real-time property of fieldbus are the keys to the implementation of Fieldbus Control System (FCS). With the rapid development and widely utilization of the FCS, users get more and more expectation on a better performance in industrial control bus bandwidth, transmitting distance, redundancy ability, reliability, and performance to cost ratio. On the other hand, the Ethernet has the merit of rapid transmitting speed, good compatibility, low cost and mature in technology. Thus, It can support almost all prevail network protocol. So there is an inevitable trend to build up new generation of wide band fieldbus. In this thesis, as a result of our effort in theory and practice, we got some achievement, which will be discussed in this paper later.In this paper, firstly we have a close glimpse about fieldbus field, including the their network structure, work model. Secondly, we dive into the research of real-time scheduling algorithm. Thirdly, we review the status of the research of fieldbus and draw a bound and direction to our research.We consult the mechanism of MIL-STD-1553B(1553B) and propose our highly reliable fieldbus system based on Ethernet—ARTC. Theoretically, the realization of ARTC includes such issues:1.Propose an dual redundant bus network structure. Without modifying hardware of Ethernet, ARTC manages the buses to support real-time data transfers in a master/slave way. 2. After reviewing a great deal of the driven-model of fieldbus system, we propose a time-event complex network driven model with a globe timer.3. Use 1553B for reference, we realized our special 7 kinds of message type and frame data structure for ARTC.4. We discuss the reason that baffled the use of Ethernet in industrial control area: its CSMA/CD and Binary Exponential Backoff Policy brings the uncertainty of transmit time. And, we introduce our effort in this area. 5. Then, we discusse the issue of reliability guarantee technology from hardware to software.After that, we introduce the implementation process, relevant test and performance analysis of ARTC. By analyzing the prototype and test report of ARTC, we proved that ARTC's practicability and Rationality.For the research about real-time Ethernet is springing up, many things need to be done. Our next goal is to propose our network interface standard and products, which have Independent intellectual property right.
