The Multi-Mode MERS (Marine Engine Room Simulation ) Integrated Simulation System is supported by Shanghai Science and Technology Development Fund. The background of development lies in the boom of the shipping transport. Nowadays the manufacture of ship is being improved in larger size, less fuel and higher efficiency, and multi-mode of propulsion such as the electric propulsion and the variable pitch rudder have come into existence. The Navigation Simulation Center in my university has developed the synthetic multi-mode engine room simulation system, based on the former SMSC.The Fieldbus technique is a latest technique developed in the middle of 1980s. A new distribution control system of network integration, which is called FCS has been developed, through bi-directional multi-node digital communication in serials between the equipments of microcomputers implemented by the control network in the bottom layer.Today multiple Field bus formats exist without a uniform standard. At the same time each kind of bus has its own characteristics and application range. With the globalization of these days, every nation and every company in the world are all devoted to the establishment of Fieldbus standards and the norms of their products. Different Fieldbus protocols can be applied in the same system, in addition different types of Fieldbus can be connected with each other in the same system via adapters. The prevalent Fieldbuses at present include FF, CAN, DeviceNet, Lonwork and Profibus etc.In engine room of multi-mode integrated simulation system, we adopt Field Bus Controller System as controller network in bottom-layer. In implementation of the system, we employ mid-voltage power system as the background of the detailed subject's implementation. Because it is relatively independent, and less mutual correlative with other subsystem, the primaryfunction is to transfer and deal with information. Consequently, Field Bus Controller System is comparatively adapted to the research of bus communication.Auto-configuration and management of the system node on the base of communication has been implemented in the subject. On one hand, self-management of the system has been figured out. Not only variety in I/O ports but in bus nodes or modules, as long as keeping the data in the system configuration database in accordance with the physical conjunction, the software and hardware of the system need not to be calibrated by the operators. On the other hand, auto-expansion and porting of the system also has been figured out. When a partial system is expanded to a whole system, only adding physical equipments to the system configuration database is needed. Even the system is applied in other system, the normal running of the program is assured. In the programming of the software, modularized and general-purposed program idea, as well as special function employed by independent program, class defined by users-IO_CFG, are adopted. We have not onlyimplemented self-configuration of the system, but also make the OCX of the simulation system in correspondence with the hardware. Thus the configuration and maintenance of the system monitoring software become easy, and the generality, flexibility and expansibility of the system are enhanced...
