Under the background of national 863 project development of intelligent instrument embedded software-develop-platform used for Big Mechatronical Equipment's Stauts Montior and Trouble Diagnose (Task number :2002AA182308) , following the feature and requirements of Intelligent Instrument , this thesis presents a realization of embedded Intelligent Instruments System based on embedded Linux, USB (Universal Serial Bus) and FPGA (Field Programable Gate Array) develop technology, give the details of hardware and software development. Specially, it describes the key technology USB communication realization,which includes USB firmware develop and USB device driver develop.In chapter one,introduction, introduces the research background of the intelligent instrument, which includes intelligent instruments development status, Trouble Diagnose development status and trend. Then, it advances the pocket intelligent instrument based on free embedded Linux and USB communication which is this paper' s thesis.In chapter two, the thesis studies embedded Linux design. It emphasizes on several topical which fabricate embedded Linux require, and virtual memory management upswing.In chapter three, the thesis mainly studies embedded Linux design and development which based on StrongARM chip, narrates embedded system hardware framework and software develop, and so on.In chapter four, the thesis processes USB communication system collectivity design after introducing USB communication protocol.In chapter five, the thesis introduces USB slave end develop technology, include USB firmware routine develop etc. Had described FPGA technology operation on data collection&process module, it introduces a FPGA slave mode serial-config technology.In chapter six,the thesis detailedly describes USB devive driver develop, after introducing USB driver routine's hiberarchy.In chapter seven, summarizes this thesis,and introduces the prospect of the relative research fields.
